Served as Chief Architect in CPWD and superannuated in May 2019. Held various positions in CPWD (Senior Architect, Architect, Deputy Architect). Joined MEASI ACADEMY OF AFCHITECTURE on Sept '2019 and continuing.

Architect practicing since 1991, ventured to academics since 2005 heading various institutions before assuming as Professor here in Measi. Sharing the handful of experience acquired from Professional practice, contract consultancy, cine industry, Music compositions, varied business experience and creative field. Conducted varied leadership programme for various category of people.

Experience of approximately 36 years in the profession, in Interior Design and Architecture in India and abroad. In addition was a partner in a hand crafted furniture company which dealt only in quality wood. Currently pursuing a PhD in architecture.

Graduated from School of Architecture in 1978. Joined PADGRO consultants, held position of Senior Architect and Executive Director. Own practice from 2000. Visiting faculty in some colleges. Chairman IIA TN 2002-2004. Chairman IIID Chennai 2014-2016
Member Council of Architecture 2016-2021. Joined MEASI as Design Chair in 2019.

B.Arch
Graduated from SAP, Anna University, joined Bharath & Associates, Architects in 1969 as a trainee and retired as a partner in 2013. He was a visiting faculty at several institutions for about 15 years before joining MEASI Academy of Architecture as Design Chair in 2014. Prof. Balaji is also keenly interested in sports, reading, sketching and painting.

Gold Medalist in 'Architecture'(1969) and Jawaharlal Nehru Award Winner in 'Planning'(1986) from Madras university. He also obtained certificate in ' Architectural Management' from University of Nottingham, U.K(1987). 10 years was in the Department of Town Planning and next 25 years in Anna University. He served as Chairman and Dean, Anna university (2007) and also as a member of syndicate there. He has more than 25 technical papers to his credit published in National & International Seminars. He is actively into consultation projects of TNHB, CMDA, DTCP and several MNCs like DHI, IPE(Global) till date.
